Billing Address & Registration Location Issues

If checkout won't accept your billing address, or team registration won't accept your team's home town, it's almost always one of a few specific situations below. Find the message you're seeing (or the situation that matches) for the fix.

Overview

  1. Your saved address is missing a field — an older address on file may be missing a city, state, or zip code.

  2. No billing address is on file at all — checkout has nothing to submit.

  3. Your zip code isn't in the expected format — some purchases require a plain 5-digit U.S. zip code.

  4. Your team's home town doesn't match the selected state — this is checked specifically during team registration, not checkout.

1. "A Valid Billing Name and Address are Required"

What it means: the billing address saved on your account is missing required information — usually a city, state, or zip code that was never filled in.

How to fix it:

  1. On the checkout page, click to edit your billing address.

  2. Fill in every field: Address, City, State, and Zip.

  3. Save the address, then continue with checkout.

2. "Unable to process request. Address required."

What it means: no billing address was selected (or found) when you tried to submit your order.

How to fix it:

  1. Add a billing address to your account if you haven't already.

  2. Make sure it's selected as your billing address on the checkout page.

  3. Submit your order again.

3. "Please enter a valid 5-digit zip code."

What it means: this specific purchase requires a standard 5-digit U.S. zip code. Zip+4 codes (with a dash and 4 extra digits) or non-numeric entries aren't accepted here.

How to fix it:

  1. Re-enter your zip code using exactly 5 digits, with no dash or extra numbers.

4. Team Home Town Doesn't Match the Selected State (Team Registration)

What it means: unlike the billing address on checkout, the Team Home Town field during team registration is checked against the selected Team Home State — the city has to be a recognized city within that state. This is the one case where a mismatched city/state pair will actually be rejected before you can continue.

How to fix it:

  1. Double-check the spelling of your team's home town for typos or extra spaces.

  2. Confirm the correct state is selected.

  3. If your town is small or unincorporated, try the nearest recognized city or town name for your area.

  4. If it still won't validate and you're confident the city/state pair is correct, contact support — the town may simply be missing from our list.

NOTE: This validation only applies to the Team Home Town/State fields during team registration. It does not apply to billing addresses at checkout, which are only checked for blank fields, not for a real city/state match.
