How to Change Tiebreaker Settings for a Brand

When two or more teams end up tied in the standings, PlayerFirst walks down an ordered list of tiebreaker rules until the tie is broken. Brand admins can turn individual tiebreakers on or off and change the order they're applied in.

  1. Sign in to a PlayerFirst website.

  2. On the left navigation, click Site Settings > Site Settings.

  3. Navigate to the Teams & Schedules tab.

  4. Under Scoring, find the Tiebreakers table. Each row is a tiebreaker rule, listed in the order it's checked.

    • Check or uncheck Active to turn a tiebreaker on or off.

    • Drag a row, or type a new value in the Order column, to change where it falls in the sequence. Lower numbers are checked first.

  5. Click Save Settings.

NOTES:

  • The available tiebreakers are Seeded, Forfeited, Points Awarded, Head to Head, Most Wins, Fewest Goals Allowed, Applicable Goal Differential, Applicable Goals For, Applicable Goals Against, and Coin Toss. Applicable Goals For and Applicable Goals Against are turned off by default; the rest are on. Coin Toss is set last in the default order, as the final tiebreaker if every other active rule still ends in a tie — but like any other row, it can be reordered or turned off.

  • These settings will reflect within the Access App.
