About the GotSport to PlayerFirst API
This is a one-way sync. Information is pulled from GotSport to PlayerFirst, but in no instance will any information go from PlayerFirst to GotSport
The API will look for and sync over new athletes to a program once a day.
Adding your Brand's GotSport API Credentials in Site Settings
Sign in to a PlayerFirst website.
On the left navigation, click Site Settings > Site Settings.
Under the Teams & Schedules tab, Find the API Integrations header.
Enter your brand's GotSport Username, GotSport Password, and GotSport Org ID and their respective fields.
Click Save Settings at the top of the page.
Adding an Event's GotSport Event ID to a Program
NOTE: To find your event's GotSport Event ID, go to your event on GotSport. The ID will be listed in the URL.
Sign in to a PlayerFirst website.
On the left navigation, click Program > Registration Details.
Find the program you want to edit and click the Pencil icon on its row.
Navigate to the Reporting tab for the program.
Enter the GotSport Event ID in the respective field, then click the Save button next to the field.
After the page refreshes, you will see two buttons under the GotSport Event ID field; Import Rosters from GotSport and Import Schedule from GotSport.
DO NOT press either of these buttons until the below steps are read, and you are sure the program is setup correctly in PlayerFirst to pull the information over.
Syncing Rosters from GotSport
Before importing rosters from GotSport, ensure all of the following is true:
Division Names in PlayerFirst match the Division Names in GotSport exactly.
If the division names do not match, or there are more divisions in GotSport than in PlayerFirst, add/edit the divisions in PlayerFirst.
Team Names in PlayerFirst match the Team Names in GotSport exactly.
How to Sync Rosters from GotSport
Sign in to a PlayerFirst website.
On the left navigation, click Program > Registration Details.
Find the program you want to edit and click the Pencil icon on its row.
Navigate to the Reporting tab for the program.
Under the GotSport header, ensure that the GotSport Event ID is entered.
Click the Import Rosters from GotSport button.
After the button is clicked, two modals will display.
Syncing Schedules from GotSport
Before importing rosters from GotSport, ensure all of the following is true:
Division Names in PlayerFirst match the Division Names in GotSport exactly.
If the division names do not match, or there are more divisions in GotSport than in PlayerFirst, add/edit the divisions in PlayerFirst.
Team Names in PlayerFirst match the Team Names in GotSport exactly.
Important to Note: Schedule updates and live scoring are not automatically brought over from GotSport.
How to Sync Rosters from GotSport
Sign in to a PlayerFirst website.
On the left navigation, click Program > Registration Details.
Find the program you want to edit and click the Pencil icon on its row.
Navigate to the Reporting tab for the program.
Under the GotSport header, ensure that the GotSport Event ID is entered.
Click the Import Schedule from GotSport button.
After the button is clicked, two modals will display.
A Confirmation modal, confirming the sync should be done.
A Results modal that will display what was updated.
How to Enable Your Event to Display in the Access App
Log in to your PlayerFirst website.
On the dashboard, go to Schedule>Leagues & Tournaments page.
On the Leagues & Tournaments table, ensure that the event has a Green Checkmark in the Schedule Settings.
If the Event does not have the Green Checkmark, you just need to click the event name in the table to "activate" the event.
Once confirming the event is "activated" on the Leagues & Tournaments page, go to the Communication>Access App page.
On the Access App page, find your event and click the Pencil button.
On the App Settings page, change the Visibility setting to either Show During Event Dates or Custom Date Range.
Enable the Schedule in PlayerFirst field to ensure the schedule displays in the app.
