What is the Retention List Page?
The Retention List page allows users to compare registrants from one program to another. This can be used to view:
2026 vs 2025 registrants
Camp A vs Camp B registrants
Date Range A vs Date Range B registrants
Why use the Retention List Page?
The Retention List page can be used to create a specific group of past registrants to target through marketing communication.
Filtering by Program and Division on the Retention List Page
Should be used if you are looking to see new vs. previous registrants for a specific program.
EX: 2026 Club Season Tryout registrants vs. 2025 Club Season Tryout registrants.
Sign in to a PlayerFirst website.
On the left navigation, click Program > Retention List.
Filter Type: Select Program and Division.
Setup Comparison
New List: Use the filters below to view a new list of target registrations.
Brand: Select your brand.
Program: Select the program you want as your primary list of registrations.
Divisions: Select up to 5 divisions within the selected program.
Previous List: Use the filters below to compare registrations against the Primary list.
Brand: Select your brand.
Program: Select the program you want as your comparison.
Divisions: Select up to 5 divisions within the selected program.
Extra Filters
Athlete Grad Year Range: Youngest Grad Year to Oldest Grad Year.
Birth Year Range: Youngest Birth Year to Oldest Grad Year.
Athlete Status: Enable to include only athletes who have accepted a roster spot.
Click Filter.
Filtering by Date Range and Activity Type on the Retention List Page
Date Range and Activity Type: Should be used if you are looking to see new vs. retained registrants for a specific date range or program type.
EX: Summer Camp registrants in 2026 vs Summer Camp registrants in 2025.
Sign in to a PlayerFirst website.
On the left navigation, click Program > Retention List.
Filter Type: Select Date Range and Activity Type.
Setup Comparison
Primary List: Use the filters below to view a primary list of target registrations.
Brand: Select your brand.
Date Range: Input a date range you want as your primary list of registrations.
Activity Type: Select a specific Activity Type if necessary.
Comparison List: Use the filters below to compare registrations against the Primary list.
Brand: Select your brand.
Date Range: Input a date range you want as your comparison.
Activity Type: Select a specific Activity Type if necessary.

Analyzing the Dashboard and Retention List Table
Dashboard
After filtering, the Dashboard will provide you high-level data based on the filters that were applied.
New Registrants: The percentage of registrants in the New List that are not in the Previous List.
Retention Rate: The percentage of registrants in both lists.
Records: The number of athletes within the Retention List table.
This will be the total number of athletes within all programs that were filtered by.
Retention List Table
The Retention List Table lists all athletes within the programs that were filtered by. Information includes Contact Information (Athlete Email and Phone, Parents Email and Phone), Status (Retained, Not Retained, New), and the Program/Division/Teams the athletes participated in.
Messaging Specific Accounts on the Retention List Table
Sign in to a PlayerFirst website.
On the left navigation, click Program > Retention List.
At the top of the page, apply the necessary filters and click Filter.
Navigate to the Retention List table at the bottom of the page.
Use the checkboxes on the left to select the accounts that need to be messaged.
Once selected, click the Message button at the top right of the table.
A modal will display. Select the Email Type and the Recipient Group.
Click Compose Email. You will be taken to build and send out your message.
Messaging Based on Retention Status on the Retention List Table
Sign in to a PlayerFirst website.
On the left navigation, click Program > Retention List.
At the top of the page, apply the necessary filters and click Filter.
Navigate to the Retention List table at the bottom of the page.
At the top right of the top, click the More Options button. The following options will be available...
Email Retained
Email Not Retained
Email New
After selecting an option, a modal will display. Select the Email Type and the Recipient Group.
Click Compose Email. You will be taken to build and send out your message.
