How to Create/Edit Subscription Products & Plans

How to Create a Subscription Product

  1. Sign in to a PlayerFirst website.

  2. On the left navigation, click Sales > Shop.

  3. Above the Products table, click the Plus button.

  4. On the Create Products page...

    1. Subscription: Enable the Create Subscription Product check box.

    2. Number of Products: Enter "1".
      Note: This is not the number of Subscription Plans. In most cases, this should just be "1".

    3. Associated Program: Select the associated program.
      Note: For subscription dollars to be correctly allocated, a program should be created that runs the same time frame as the full subscription plan.

    4. Category: Select the appropriate Product Category.

  5. Click Continue.

  6. On the Create Products page,

  7. fill out any of the fields that apply to your subscription.

    • Name: Add the name of your subscription product.

    • Price: Put 0 for the price.

    • Start Showing/Stop Showing: Add a date and time range the subscription will be visible for purchase. If left blank, the product will show indefinitely.

    • Timezone: Enter your brand's/product's timezone.

    • Profile Required: Is an athlete profile selection required for this product? This setting is not applicable to subscriptions because each plan has this option.

    • Restrict to One Per Profile: Product can only be purchased once per athlete profile. Rule does not apply if unless the product or subscription is associated to a profile.

    • Description (optional): This will show on the front-facing side of the subscription.

  8. Click Continue. A popup will display alerting you a product was created and that the subscription product requires at least one plan to complete setup. Click Dismiss.

How to Create Subscription Plans for Your Product

  1. On the Subscription Plans page, click the Plus button in the upper right-hand corner to add a new Subscription Plan.

  2. On the Plan Details page, enter the plan details for your subscription.

    • Plan Name: Enter the name of the subscription plan.
      EX: “Monthly Plan”, “Yearly Plan”, etc.

    • Plan Details: Enter a description for your subscription plan. This will show to users when they are selecting a subscription plan. Limited to 512 characters.

    • Order: If you have multiple plans, this is the order you want the plan's to be displayed to customers.

    • Available: Select this option if the plan is available for new subscriptions.

    • Per Profile: If enabled the subscription is athlete-specific. If disabled, the subscription could be considered a “family plan” / a plan that applies to the entire family account.

    • Tiered Plan: Allow customers to upgrade or downgrade between subscription plans within this product.

    • Term Cost: Enter the subscription cost per renewal.
      EX: Term Cost: $10, Renewal Type: Monthly
      Users will be charged $10/month while they are subscribed

    • Renewal Type: Select if the subscription plan will be None, Monthly, or Yearly.

      • If None is selected…

        • Term Start: Enter the date the subscription plan begins.

        • Term End: Enter the date the subscription plan ends.

      • If Monthly or Yearly is selected…

        • Renew Through: If left blank, the subscription will renew forever. If a date is entered, the subscription will stop renewing on the specified date.

    • Variable Renewal Date: Customer's charge date will be the day of the month they registered for the subscription (not the 1st of the month).

    • Prorate Start: Enable to prorate the cost based on when the subscription was purchased in regard to its term end/renewal date.

  3. Click Save.

  4. Repeat steps 1 - 3 to create another subscription plan for the product.
    EX: Monthly and Yearly subscription options.

    • Use the Copy Plan icon on the Subscription Plans page to duplicate and edit an existing plan.

How to Edit Subscriptions

  1. Sign in to a PlayerFirst website.

  2. On the left navigation, click Sales > Shop.

  3. Find the shop item you want to edit and click the Edit Subscription button on its row to edit the plans.

  4. On the Subscription Plans table, click the Pencil button on the row of the plan you want to edit.

  5. Edit the fields for the plan that require updating.
