How to Create and Use a Shared Component on a PlayerFirst Website

What are Shared Components?

Shared Components are parts of a page that can be saved, and reused on different pages of your websites.

How to Create a Shared Component

  1. Log in to a PlayerFirst website.

  2. Navigate to the page that needs to be edited, or create a new page. Click Edit in the bottom right corner.

  3. On the page, click the component that you want to save as a Shared Component. On the right side settings, click the Shared Component button.

  4. In the Share Components, give the component a Name and Description.

  5. Enable the Allow Live Instances field to make the component live.

    • When enabled, users can insert this component as a live instance. Editing a live instance updates all pages where it is used.

  6. Once done, click Share.
Note: Marking a component as Global will allow it to be used across different brands. This is visible based off your roles within your brand.

  7. Your components will live under the Shared header on the Add Content tab. The component can be dropped onto pages as necessary.
